Kanchanaburi is west of Bangkok towards the Burma border about 2.5 hours drive.
The most famous landmark in this province is the “Bridge over the River Kwai” which has been made popular thanks to the movies and books over the years.
There are numerous activities one can do when not playing some of the nice golf courses in the area, such as visiting the gorgeous waterfalls that are scattered throughout Kanchanaburi. Trekking is also a popular activity exploring the Tham Lot Noi and the Tham Than Lot Yai caves. There is also an opportunity to stay overnight at Khao Lek Village which is in the heart of the jungle of Chalerm Rattana Kosin National Park. Elephant riding, canoeing, kayaking and fishing are also some of the other things to fill in your day The nightlife is not as manic as other parts of Thailand but it still exists if you want a good night out!!!
