Siam Country Club – Waterside

Siam Country Club, Waterside Course is the second newest course addition to the world-famous Siam Country Club brand. As the name suggests, Waterside is a reasonably new 18-hole golf course that features waterfront and golfer-friendly concepts for a new and interesting round of golf in Pattaya. With a par of 72, set over a total distance of 7,407 yards, the course enjoys the same Championship status as the other courses at the club.

 

Designed by IMG, which is one of the most famous golf course architects in the world, while also being an expert in world sport and event management, has brought all their expertise to the Waterside to create something new in Pattaya. Using gentler terrain than that of the club’s other courses, while using raised greens and hi-lipped bunkers, the course has a real sense of balance, providing a good chance of shooting a good score, although the course is obviously not a pushover.

 

The holes on the course, especially the par 3s and 4s, are significantly shorter than on The Plantation or Old Course, making this a very enjoyable round. Average distance hitters will be very happy with the layout of the course. Don’t get the wrong idea that the course is easy, because the final 2 holes on both the front and back 9s are as good as anything around.

 

Set around a massive lake, you can take advantage of the Waterside winds to help you along the way. The facilities at Waterside are first-class, with a large clubhouse with an atrium and Japanese rock gardens. There are excellent practice facilities that you would expect to find at an international golf academy. There is also an 18-hole putting course.
